Unhappy I Think My Dervish Is Broken...

I know i'm not the best player in the world, but I my dervish casts enchants, runs in, does almost no dmg, and dies faster than you can say, "Wow, that sucked...".

And that's just me soloing in standard. Don't even ask about HM.

I've posted here several times about builds, well, ok, once, but I just keep on dying, without so much as 1 kill.

I'm really hoping somebody could tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong, cause apprently I'm not bright enough to figure it out for myself.

My Stats: 12 Earth Prayers/12 Scythe Mastery/12 Mysticism

Skills:

Avatar of Dwanya: +52 hp when I cast/activate a skill

Eternal Aura: 80 aoe dmg upon casting, and recharges all my skills (including avatar) when it ends

Heart of Fury: for 17 seconds, I attack 33% faster, and when it ends, all the enemies around me are set on fire for 3 seconds

Mystic Vigor: for 20 seconds, I get 6hp per hit, per enchantment on me, that coupled with Heart of Fury gives me like, 50hp every swing, depending on the size of the mob.

Vital Boon: +88 max health for 20 seconds and +175hp when it ends

Chilling Victory: great for spike dmg and aoe

Mystic Sweep: deals +9 dmg per enchantment

Signet of Pious Light: ends an enchantment, giving me that enchants collapsing effect+102hp

hope it is'nt too terrible, and thanks for your constructive critisicm

I'm no self-proclaimed expert, but I think
[card]Conviction[/card]
could be of help. You have high heal, but no def buff. Sort of like trying to fill a sieve with water. Generally prevention is better than cure.

I'm sure your whole build will be rewritten in a few minutes, though.

Also you have no condition removal.

Excuse me, but are you actually trying to solo with this build or I misread something?

Yeah, by 'solo' do you mean playing with heroes and hench as opposed to a PUG, or do you mean completely by yourself? If you mean the latter, exactly what are you trying to accomplish?

I'm also reading the OP's post that he's playing solo. Guild Wars has always been balanced to party play, and the mob sizes/levels/skills don't scale according to the party size, unlike some other similar games. Looking as your scythe mastery should meet the requirement of any scythe you may be wielding, the fact that you're going out alone might be your problem. The henchmen and heroes are there for a reason if you're uncomfortable playing with other human players.

Also, a better attribute spread would be:

13 Scythe Mastery
8 Earth Prayers
15 Mysticism

or

15 Scythe Mastery
9 Earth Prayers
12 Mysticism

With the earth prayers, you might consider Mystic Regeneration. It's a nice safety net when there's no Chilblains around.

Umm I don't think this is the best example of a good build.
First of all, no spike after DW and nowdays, one of 3/4s is a MUST in every damage dealing bar (especially without an IAS skill).
Second problem is, I don't see how you're going to manage your energy. Mirage Cloak is an useless skill, used only in DoA tanking and melee/ranger farm I guess. And beside that, you have Mystic Regen (10e), Aura of Holy Might (10e), Eternal Aura (10e), and Mirage Cloak is 15e. I know that you're not going to cast all your enchantments before engaging (I hope you didn't mean that) but still it's too many high-energy spells.
Radiant Scythe is useful only with Lyssa. I'd agree about Zealous Sweep, I love this skill.

OP:
Well, so I'm not the one how interpreted your build as a solo one.
If you wanna go with Dwayna, go with the avatar, Eternal Aura, IAS, Mystic Vigor and attacks.

I misread it too. I thought by 'solo' he meant H&H or something. Disregard my build entirely if you're going it alone.

Nobody mentioned that you're supposed to farm HM. If you want specific farming builds for it, there's another section for that.

Seeing as you are having serious problems on NM, i don't think HM is for you just yet. Do you have other campaigns? Complete them, then move onto dungeons in eotn or something. Then maybe try some HM.

Your build isn't bad really. However Dwayna is enough self heal, you may as well be doing damage in order to heal yourself. Best of both worlds

Working from your original bar:

[skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]Wild Blow[/skill][skill]Rush[/skill][skill]Heart Of Fury[/skill][skill]Avatar Of Dwayna[/skill][skill]Eternal Aura[/skill] + Res

That should work out ok. I never see a need for condition removal in PvE. 90% of the time i play with H/H and their reaction times to remove conditions are godly. If they're that much of a problem, run [skill]Avatar Of Melandru[/skill]

A Dwayna build posted here works quite nicely and is fun to play.

Also, a build Servant Of Kali sent me a while ago (edited slightly):

[skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill][skill]Crippling Sweep[/skill][skill]Reversal of Fortune[/skill][skill]Heart Of Fury[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Avatar Of Dwayna[/skill][skill]Eternal Aura[/skill] + Res

Mending touch could be swapped for another attack skill or another utility skill. RoF works so well because with Mysticism, it only costs 1 energy (as i usually run 10+1+1 Mysticism, and providing you cast on yourself only). With the inherant Dwayna heal, you heal for roughly 50 +, negate another 50 damage and then heal for a further 50 (that's with around 8 Prot spec). Pretty nifty if you ask me.

Hope this helps

12 Scythe Mastery is way too low to do any decent amount of damage... the MINIMUM you ever want is 14 (12+1+1) and that's if you're one of those all-minor rune freaks.
Superiors are fine in PvE, heck a superior and a major is fine, I run those on my Ranger nearly all the time and I still have 480-500 health depending on how many minors I run. Considering henchies have 480 health, having 600+ is pointless really.

Take [wiki]Great Dwarf Armor[/wiki] or [skill]Conviction[/skill] if you don't have EotN. That will allow you to absorb damage with ease with Blessed Insignias.

As said drop all other healing if you're running Avatar of Dwayna. Go full Scythe Mastery and Mysticism.
Chilling Victory generally isn't useful in PvE unless you're in the Realm of Torment, I'd take [skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill] instead.

"With loot scaling, players receive an amount of normal drops (common and uncommon rarity items, collectable drops, gold, common crafting materials) proportionate to the size of their party as compared to a full party. For example, a solo farmer will on average get the same number of blue weapons as a player in an eight person party. The only items exempt from this rule are:

Skill Tomes
Insight and Passages Scrolls
Dyes
Rare crafting materials
All rare (gold) items
All unique (green) items
Special event items
Thus, the size of a farming party, with respect to loot, only affects the distribution of the exempt items. "

Earth Prayers 8 + 2 (Major Earth Prayers) = 10
Mysticism 10 + 2 (Major Mysticism) = 12
Scythe Mastery 12 + 1 + 3 (Superior Scythe Mastery) = 16

1. Distracting Strike
2. Skull Crush
3. Mystic Sweep
4. Vital Boom
5. Mystic Regeneration
6. Mystic Virgo
7. Shield of Force
8. Resurrection Signet

It may seem weak, considering no one sues Skull Crush, but trust me I use this in Random Arena and it deals some massive damage. I haven’t tried it in PvE but it’s good for PvP.

When fighting Assassins always keep Shield of Force up, it will:
1. Weaken them.
2. Block their first attack, saving you until it recharges.

Sorry but testing something with success in RA doesn't make it good.
